Painted or printed canvas presents a statement in clean lines when simply stretched on a stretcher frame – the depth of the stretcher used: 22mm or 40mm will affect the distance the piece stands away from the wall.

Another option is to add a frame to the stretcher which can either be a standard type frame; or a specialised canvas float frame which can be used to maximum benefit by the addition of an airgap – a breathing space between canvas & frame creating an additional illusion of depth through shadow.
